Wrestling brings home first-ever TISAC championship

Last Thursday was a Senior Night to remember for CA’s varsity wrestling team, as they brought home CA’s first-ever TISAC Wrestling team championship title with a score of 47 points (8 points higher than their closest opponent). This win was a true team effort featuring many Conference Champions including Owen Techet '23, Anderson Coluntuoni '23, Thuy Dzu '24, Cole Fekete '22, and Kyler Chen '22. Kyler was also awarded the Conference Wrestler of the Year. 

Coach Eric Moore commented: “The team has had a number of individual conference champions in the past. But, for the first time in a while, we had the right mix of good numbers per weight class on the team and great experience at the necessary weights to pull off the team title! The team’s hopes of winning significantly increased after sweeping the conference for the regular season. Our conference foes tried their best to shut down the Chargers, but they could not stifle the team’s victory.”

Next, the team takes aim at States, competing in matches Friday and Saturday at Providence Day School.
