Last Saturday, the Charger boys cross country team placed first, and the girls placed fifth among 42 teams competing in the WNC Cross Country Invitational (one of the largest opening weekend meets in all of North Carolina). The boys team won the Championship division with 43 points, one of CA’s strongest season debuts ever. The invitational pushed both teams into high North Carolina state rankings to start the season. The boys are currently third in the state, and the girls are thirteenth.
